The Van Nelle Factory, designed by the architects Johannes Brinkman and Leendert van der Vlugt in cooperation with Mart Stam, was built in 1931 for the Van Nelle company, established in 1782.
The factory, located in the city of Rotterdam, produced tea, coffee and tobacco. The factory operated until 1995, when the company was reorganised.
Currently the buildings contain several companies in the area of design and communication.
