The Place Stanislas, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Carrière and Place
d'Alliance were built between 1752 and 1755 by the Duke of Lorraine Stanislas Leszczynski
(1677-1766), exiled king of Poland and father-in-law of Louis XV, and by his architect
Emmanuel Héré.
