The royal tombs of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) are located, most of them, within 40 km distance of the capital city of Hanyang (Seoul).
Neung is the type of tomb of Kings and Queens, and Won is the type of tomb of Crown Princes, their wives, and the royal parents.

Donggureung Tomb Cluster
In this cluster there are seven kings and ten queens in nine Neung-type tombs, including the tomb of King Taejo (1335-1408), first king of the Joseon Dynasty.
